In the early 1930s, Selangor ceased using the Club Selangor field as its arena, opting instead to play at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium at Jalan Ampang until 1942.

On February 22, 1936, the Selangor Football Association (FAS) was officially established through the merger of Selangor Association Football League (SAFL) and SFA. Under the auspices of this new organization, Selangor clinched the 16th edition of the Malaya Cup, defeating Singapore. This historic victory marked the first time since 1921 that both finalists played without a single player of European descent.

The outbreak of World War II in 1942 not only halted the Malaya Cup for nearly six years but also resulted in severe damage to the Jalan Ampang Stadium. Selangor then designated the TPCA Stadium on Princes Road as its venue when the matches resumed in 1948.

Selangor also dominated the FAM Cup, introduced in 1951, claiming it for the first time in 1953 (sharing the trophy with Kelantan). They went on to secure seven more championships until the 1974 edition, when the competition was opened only to club-status teams.
