Selangor FC U23 Tops Group B To Qualify For Liga Juara Piala MFL 2023

Selangor FC U23 officially qualified for the first season of the Liga Juara after finishing at the top of Group B of the MFL Cup 2023 by defeating Kelantan FC 3-1 last Tuesday.

Overall, the U23 squad finished this season's MFL Cup Group B with 22 points accumulated from six wins, four draws and two defeats.

According to statistics, the U23 squad has scored 17 goals in 12 matches. Danial Asri and Haykal Danish are the team's top scorers so far with three goals each. Followed by Adim Muzahhir, Izrin Ibrahim and Izwan Yuslan with two goals. Meanwhile, Syahir Bashah, Faiz Amer, Khairi Suffian, Daniel Edzuan and Muhammad have scored one goal for the Red Giants U23 squad.

In addition, the two midfielders Adam Haikal and Haykal Danish have recorded three assists, making them the team's most productive creators. Meanwhile, Ruventhiran, Raimi Shuhaimi, Izrin Ibrahim, Izwan Yuslan and Muhammad have contributed one assist each in the 2023 MFL Cup.

At the same time, Abdi Hassan's squad has also recorded a clean sheet in four matches and the average number of conceded is only one goal.

The top four clubs from Group A and Group B of the 2023 MFL Cup will compete in the second round called the Liga Juara. which will be played over a one-round league format only. The top two teams from the Liga Juara will qualify for the MFL Cup Final which will start in early August for the first time.
