Selangor FC's National Team Call Up

The Harimau Malaya squad finished second in Group E of the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers Final Round after collecting six points earned from victories over Bahrain and Bangladesh, hence qualifying for the second round of the 2026 World Cup / 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers alongside 35 other countries.

Brendan Gan, Faisal Halim, Sharul Nazeem, and Mukhairi Ajmal of Selangor FC will represent Harimau Malaya, Safuwan Baharudin of Singapore, and Noor Al-Rawabdeh of Jordan in Round 2 of the 2026 World Cup / 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers, which will take place from November 16th to June 11th, 2024.

Malaysia will compete in Group D against the Kyrgyz Republic on November 16th, 2023 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, while the match against Chinese Taipei on November 21st, 2023 will be held at the Taipei Municipal Stadium. In the meantime, Singapore will face South Korea on November 16th and Thailand on November 21st, 2023. Jordan, on the other hand, is scheduled to play Tajikistan on November 16th and Saudi Arabia on November 21st.

The Harimau Malaya squad, as well as Singapore, will report for duty this Friday, November 10th, 2023. Jordan, on the other hand, had already started their training session on Wednesday, November 8th.

At the same time, five Selangor FC young players, Syahir Bashah, Harith Haiqal, Zikri Khalili, and Izwan Yuslan, including Muhammad, the youngest player (18 years old), have been called up to join the Harimau Muda central training camp from November 13th to 21st, 2023 in preparation for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup campaign, which is scheduled to take place next April.

Meanwhile, other Red Giants players will continue to participate in team activities including training sessions at the SFC Training Centre and some closed friendly matches to prepare during the FIFA international window this month.
