Selangor MAC Finished Third In Malaysia Futsal Cup 2023 To Conclude The Season!

The official Selangor MAC futsal squad is the third place holder of Malaysia Futsal Cup 2023 after defeating Terengganu at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam for the 3rd place competition.

Malaysia Futsal Cup 2023 took place as soon as the Malaysia Premier Futsal League ended. The eight teams listed include Selangor MAC. Here are the results throughout the Malaysia Futsal Cup 2023 competition:-

In the Malaysia Futsal Cup 2023, Syawal Sabaruddin has made the most appearances in 191.86 minutes, followed by Ceara in 146.62 minutes, then Syahir Iqbal, the team's young player, turning 18 years old has performed in 111.27 minutes. While Faris Johan is 102.59 minutes. They are the pillar players of the Selangor MAC futsal squad this season.

From the number of appearances, Selangor MAC has managed to score 18 goals in the competition. Matheus Vasconcelos or better known as Ceara and Faris Johan have shared the number of goals with four goals, followed by Takeshi Higuchi, Fariq Muhd and Khairul Effendy with two goals. Then, Azamuddin Hassan, Syahir Iqbal, Bukharie Shamsudin each scored one goal for the Selangor MAC squad.

As for goal assists, Ceara has made the most assists, four times. Then, Syahir with two goal assists. Meanwhile, Fariq Muhd, Khairul Effendy, Faris Johan and Bukharie Shamsudin have made one goal assist.

According to the Selangor MAC head coach, Edgar Baldasso, praised the fighting spirit of the Selangor MAC players.

"All I can say is that I am satisfied with this season with the Selangor MAC Futsal squad. It's not an achievement we're aiming for, but third place still proves that the players worked hard to get something this season," emphasised Edgar.

The media also managed to interview Fariq Muhd, Captain of the Selangor MAC squad about his feelings, "It's a bit sad for us because we couldn't win any trophies this season. However, third place for me is also a positive achievement for the team. InshaaAllah, next year we will try even better,"

Grateful to be part of a player who has been with the team for a long time, "Thank God I have been with Selangor MAC for 5 years. I have had many personal and team successes. We can see that other players are at a different level from time to time. Not to forget, the Team Manager, Mimi Afzan is also a very important individual for the team. He is the one who has looked after the welfare of the players carefully and very well,".

For your information, three Selangor MAC players, goalkeeper, Syawal Sabaruddin, Faris Johan and young player Syahir Iqbal have been called up to the Harimau Malaya futsal squad for the 2024 Asia Futsal Cup qualification in Uzbekistan.
